Slapy is a small, quiet village, that lies 33km south of Prague. It is 350m above sea level and allocated about 3km from the river Vltava.
Slapy is literally allocated apon Vltava although not as high above the river as it used to be before the great Slapy Lake (reservoir) was built.
The oldest undesputable record of Slapy is on 10 August 1292 when King Václav II founded the Zbraslav kloiser and stated in the deed the list of villages which thereafter became property of the cloister.
